2nd Part
DNA: The Genetic Blueprint 🧬
DNA, or deoxyribonucleic acid, is the molecule that carries the genetic instructions for the development, functioning, growth, and reproduction of all known organisms. Think of it as the complete instruction manual for building a living thing.
The structure of a DNA molecule is famously a double helix, which looks like a twisted ladder. The "rungs" of the ladder are made of pairs of four chemical bases: adenine (A), guanine (G), cytosine (C), and thymine (T). These bases always pair up in a specific way: A with T, and C with G. The unique sequence of these pairs is what forms the genetic code.
Would you like to learn about genes and chromosomes, which are made of DNA?
